"Old School" vs "New School" MARKETING (Who Wins?)


Old School: (meetings, parties, and the like)
New School: (Internet and social media stuff)

So, the $64,000 question. Does “Old School” marketing still work these days?

I think you know the answer already, and it is OF COURSE it works, ”if” it’s done right.

See, I think you should do what fits "your" personality and skills best. Sure, experiment with new stuff (or old stuff) to continue to grow your marketing “bag-o-tricks,” but do what you like doing to build your business, let others do what they like. Find ways to blend them together.

QUICK STORY: (to those who think old school is out)

I know two guys. One is a new school well known top pro that has trained “thousands” of people to build an MLM business online with videos. I interviewed him recently and learned a few things. Let’s just talk “numbers” in this story. In his first 5 months with his current m.l.m company, this stud built a team of 1,900 in his Genewize business. This is fantastic.

Now to the old schooler. This guy has never built a huge network or income. He has built his (Efusjon - the Energy Drink Club, MLM) team to over 3,000 in just over 2 months. H-E-L-L-O!!! He builds thru home meetings (parties). The “old” school way. Now, some of his team I’m sure are building new school but many are doing it thru old school marketing. See how this MLM “nobody” SMASHED the superstar new schooler, with his little home parties that many new schoolers laugh at. This is not an islolated thing either.

Why does old school still work? Simple. It still works because this is a “PEOPLE” business and
there’s always something fun and special about getting together in person. IF you make it fun and special and your opportunity is great like Efusjon, it even that much easier.

My point is this…Don’t laugh at what other people are doing if it’s working. Do what WORKS!!

What works best is a “combination” of both.

Think about it. Should YOU be doing a “home party?” Should you be doing more “oneline” marketing? Should you be using a few "different" prospecting methods?

A guy recently asked me, “what do you think about using:

Here’s my down and dirty response.

Use ANYTHING and keep testing. Find out what works.
The MOST important thing is to START, then COMMIT
to prospect a LOT (if you want to earn a lot) EVERYDAY
until things happen! Then, REPEAT!! Teach your team
to do these sample simple steps to success.

Sounds simple and that's basically how simple it really is.
A lot of work at first that can potentially turn into a LOT of
money (residual, month after month income) later on.

Is it worth it? Absolutely!

My question to you is: How COMMITTED to “Your Success”

"PROSPECTING" to Wealth can be SIMPLE...


Let me be straight with you!!

If you want to earn money from ANY network marketing businesses, you obviously MUST have a continual flow of prospects.

It’s not as hard to find them as you may think.

Especially these days with the Internet, you can reach people everywhere. And, now days a “lot” of people are actively looking to earn extra income, you just need to get your offer in front of them.

You may be thinking, “gee, I love the concept (products, compensation plan, etc) of my program, but WHERE do I find prospects for my business?”

First off, if you want to build your business much faster, you should look for people who are “looking “ for a way to make extra money from home, “before” you look for “customers.”

WHY?

Well, because “business builders” are customers too, but they also want to earn money for whatever reasons (like they just lost a job, they hate their job, or they need more money and/or time for ???).

So, you have one or more of these things in common, AND, your income will grow “much” faster with this approach.

It will take time, so I suggest you COMMIT to a long-term plan of action. And, ACTION is your “key” to success in any home-based business. Commit to 18 months minimum.

Why “Bulletin Boards” are a GOLDMINE for You and Why You MUST Use Them...


I want to help you build your business, I really do. BUT…I cannot help those who do not help themselves.

Remember, your home-based business can be very SIMPLE. You get people Again and Again (if you want to earn the big bucks) to your website and let it do the presenting for you.

And, virtually ANYBODY can do that!!!

A home business is a BUSINESS like any other and if you want to earn money, of course you need to “work” it. I’m amazed at the percentage of people who join a home business such as the one I'm involved with (in my humble opinion, it’s one of the best), and NEVER do anything.


Treat your business like a business (not a hobby or ignore it) and it can pay off handsomely!!

Below is a way to prospect for people and send them to your business opportunity's landing page or website. It’s really not all that difficult and most people can do it. Why “Bulletin Boards” are a GOLDMINE for You and Why You MUST Use Them...


This article is a little long but well worth the 3 minutes to read…Yes, “bulletin boards” can put money in your pocket, possibly a lot of money. Even if you don’t does all that well in your prospecting. And, they won’t give you a hard time for stickin’ ‘em with a pin either.

Here’s a free way to find local, sharp business partners, as you go about your day. Plus, much more as you’ll see.

Whenever you are driving by, or frequenting a local establishment like a restaurant, that has a “bulletin board,” make sure to stop and do your duty. You know what I mean, head for the - bulletin board.

Following, are a few excellent reasons you “must” carry your business cards with you everywhere you go.

Sure, of course you want to put your business cards (or flyers) up on the board. That’s a no-brainer. Put a few up, never just one. I also like to drop a card or two on the floor by the board and in the restroom as well.

Preferably, you want to place a “sizzle” card there. You know, those are the bright, punchy ones that MARKET you much better than your competition (every other card on that board). They usually have a normal boring business card. I highly suggest you make up a sizzle (also called, drop cards) card that GRABS PEOPLE’s ATTENTION!! You can get 5,000 full color, printed on both sides for about $100 from HotCards.com. This I the best deal I have found. They also print other stuff like postcards and flyers.

But, let’s go one step further. Even better than that...you need a notebook to write down the names and contact information of all these entrepreneurs who took the time to put their card or flyer there.

You could take every one of these cards with you but that’s just not nice, since they put them there in the first place to “get” actual business, not for you to prospect them. ;-)

Some of these are the kind of people you want in your business. Many of them are obviously the more aggressive types who go around placing these little “advertisements” around town. Many are probably also pretty “connected” around town. Many can always use some extra income, right? Well, at least most of them would be open to that possibility if it were the right one.

If you do this activity consistently, you will find business partners and customers. And, it’s something others can duplicate as they go about their day. More and more people are looking for another stream of income these days, so they are looking and open.

Next, go home and start contacting them and getting them into your marketing system. I don’t know what your method is, maybe you simply send them an email (make sure to abide by the CanSpam act of 2003, do a Google search to see what this is if you don’t know), or maybe you give them a quick call. Then of course do proper follow up with the interested ones. And, don’t forget to ask for referrals.

There are two other powerful reasons you should use this method to prospect.

FIRST, if you’re thinking that this is “old school” marketing and you only want to do ”new school” social networking – you’re right, it is old school. So what.

You know what, it really doesn’t take much extra time out of your day and you can get some very good leads. Who knows, maybe somebody will lead you to a superstar business partner you can work with locally. One who is really connected to people of influence and may, or may not be into the new school marketing…YET. (wink, wink…you can teach them new school methods)

SECOND, remember as you’re driving around town going to and from work, a baseball game, or wherever – make “sure” to ALWAYS drop your cards or flyers off at places like bulletin boards, gas pumps, ATMs, etc!!

This is doing “business” and this year the IRS allows you to deduct somewhere around 50 cents for every mile you put on your vehicle. HELLO!!! I hope you are taking advantage of this incredible business deduction yourself, and using its income saving attractiveness to sponsor more people into your primary business!

Hey, if for example, you put on 15,000 miles yearly on average, and you were “doing business” as you go about your day (talk to your accountant of course, but if you’re worried - this “is” legal and people do it all the time), you would be able to write-off around $7,500 a year that you normally would be paying taxes on.

HELLO Again!!

So, let me ask you this. Are you willing to give that money up to your grumpy old Uncle Sam for who knows what, OR, would you rather “keep” that money for whatever YOU want to spend it on? Need I say more?

Please, don’t overlook the simple daily ways to prospect. They may be worth much more to you than you think.

Prospecting "Bars and Restaurant" Owners/Managers


Today I want to talk a little about recruiting at Bars and Restaurants.

OK, so now Nick's suggesting we go to bars to build our business. “Are you crazy Hetcher? I'm NOT going to build my business 'this' way. NO WAY BUDDY!!”……Hold on thar BubbaLu...Hear me out before you circular-file my suggestion.

It does have great potential to bust your business wide open, which means--your income can go thru the roof. Let's think "outside the box" for a minute here. It'll be fun. Read on.

HERE IT IS...

When you present your product line or business opportunity to more than one person at a time, such as small or medium size groups, you are building your customer and marketing executive base faster.

It just makes sense, right? And once you do a couple group presentations, it's gets much easier to do them. So, how do bars and restaurants fit into this equation?

Think about it, every bar (or restaurant for that matter) owner and manager have a loyal following of hundreds or even thousands of customers("friends").

These are people that "already" spend money with them. They gladly give them their money on a regular basis.

Can you see where I'm going with this? Of these hundreds or thousands of friends, they know some who are leaders and people with the right attributes for success, such as a great attitude and work ethic. They know who among their patrons has their own "following" of believers. Like-minded people.

THIS IS POWER!!

These bar and restaurant owners are entrepreneurs. They already work for themselves and manage people, and many would love to make extra money without much effort, and maybe they can with your company, since they already have this following of people. If they don't join you, they may really be leaving a lot of money (Immediate and Residual Income)...on the table.

WHAT TO DO...

If you know a few bar or restaurant owners, start with them. Then you could expand and contact virtually every one in your area. Show them the company presentation in person and how they could earn substantial income fairly quickly by simply inviting every one of their patrons to a Saturday morning presentation that you would present for them.

Make up some flyers for them to pass out a couple of weeks leading up to the event. They could identify leaders "before" hand so a pecking order was in place before presentation time. You should meet with a few of their "key" leaders prior to the meeting and get them into the business before the meeting.

Make sure the presentation isn't too early on Saturday morning, so those late Friday night folks can make it too.

You could even do a mailing and phone follow up to hundreds of bars and restaurants in your region.

This idea, if properly executed, could be a real boon for your business.

TIP: Remember, a great idea is NOTHING, unless it is ACTED upon!!

After much frustration (and success) in the network marketing industry over the past 20 years or so, I decided a few years ago to develop a list of questions to help me determine what business to work with. Choosing the wrong one can be very costly. Hopefully this list helps you make the best decision for you.


QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF

Is this an established and well funded company? (at “least” 3 years old)

Do I like their products or services?

Would I be proud to offer these products or services to people I know?

If I decide to join, will I “Commit” to working this business hard for at least 18 months?

Who would use this (these) product(s)? (It “must” appeal to the masses)

Why will people want it (them)?

Are they highly consumable? (regular repeat orders are important)

What is their product “now?” (not what will they have in the future)
.
Is there any competition?

What is the competition's price?

Is their product or service as good as the competition?

Does the competition have a “business opportunity” attached it?

Is the cost to get involved reasonable?

Will people see the value immediately?

Will people have to be "talked into it" because it's new or different?

Are their products or service "proven" to be superior? (proof given if the answer is yes)

Are their products or services proprietary?

Will these products or services make my life easier, more fun or better somehow?

Will it make people feel or look better? (Emotional attachment. A "want")

Can “3rd party” documentation support this product or service?

Are the product and income testimonials from distributors and users powerful yet believable?

What is the upline like? (Will there be support?)

Can people get "excited" about these products or services?

What kind of start up and on-going “training” do they offer? (Is there a cost for it?)

How are they promoted?

How do I market it? (Do they provide SIMPLE marketing systems “anybody” can use?)

Who are the management? (What do I know about them?)

What kind of money is behind the company? (Joining a new company can be financial suicide).

Does the management have a big vision and realistic expansion projections?

Where are they located?

Is it a "need" or a "want" or both? (a "want" will be easier and make more money, usually).

How much money are part-time people making?

How much money are the leaders making?

Can anyone under me make more money than me? (based on how hard they work).

How quickly can people have their monthly costs covered?

How often do they pay?

Can I work hard and retire in 1 to 5 years with a large monthly residual income for life?

Is the business willable to my family?

Do they occasionally add "fresh" new products?

From the answers above, do I believe it be around in 5 years from now?


BOTTOM-LINE:

Are you prepared to lose your time, integrity, money and possibly even friends…if you choose a so-called “hot new” business opportunity? Statistically new start-ups have about a 90% chance of failure within two years? Will "this" company provide the "Time" AND "Financial" FREEDOM I desire and help me reach my dreams and goals in a realistic time? Will this company be around in 2 years from now? In 5 or 10?

IN SUMMARY:
These are important concerns for me as I don't want egg on my face if the company goes under and I want to be involved in the most solid and lucrative business opportunity available. I want something that is proven, established, exciting and can create a lucrative "residual" income for me and my organization for years to come. Something of high value that people can make money from early on, they can commit to it because it's something they believe in and are making money with. I'm tired of the little "deals" everybody keeps starting up and want "only" a powerhouse company to finish the race with. No more games for me, life is too short.

Desire, Commitment and Action are three key components to success in your home-based biz.

Desire: Do you desire to be successful? How big is your "Why?" The minute we mentally decide to work our home-based business like a real business, we are on the right path to making some great things happen in our life.

Commitment: Without commitment, you might as well pack your bags and take a part-time job at Mickey Dees for extra money. If you're gonna do this business, for heaven's sake (and your family), make a solid commitment and follow thru with it.

Action: OK, Action is where the rubber meets the road. You have all the tools to prospect, market and present your products and/or opportunity, now all you really must do is become what I like to call a, "Master Inviter." Just continue to invite as many people as you can to try the products and look at the business. Then follow up of course.

The Most Important Action You Can Take is...


Remember this if you remember ANYTHING about making a fortune (or even $500 a month) from any home-based business…

The MOST important ACTION you can take is to…PROSPECT!!

If you want to make the “big” money...you must reach a LOT of interested people over time with your message.

Start by making a list of everybody you know and contacting the ones you think would be the best business partners, first. Some of these people are golden. Many are not. But keep in mind, it only takes a "few" good ones who find a few, who find a few, to make decent or better money if you are in the right company with the right product.

I also have literally hundreds of "others" methods of finding targeted new prospects and customers, just contact me if you want some. I wrote a powerful book on this subject of prospecting.

Next, making the "contact." Without trying to "sell" the prospect, just ask them to check out something (the company's sizzle call, CD or DVD presentation and/or website) that you think may become the next best home-based income opportunity (or whatever truthful line best works for you and your situation), and let you know what they think. Best to hand them a CD or DVD personally (just make sure they will commit to listening/watching it and taking your call in a couple days to see what they think. Or, 3-way them into the sizzle call if you can so you can get their response immediately.

Then, make sure to ask them what they think (the "follow up") and get the "interested" ones on a 3-way call and let your upline leaders help you build your business. If they are not interested, ask them if they'd like to try the product (retail sale), and also if they can give you a referral of a person or two who may be interested in the business.

Do this SIMPLE action again and again and again. Then REPEAT!! Teach your team the same exact process. Keep your business this SIMPLE and easy to duplicate and it will work.

MASSIVE, FOCUSED and CONSISTENT “ACTION” = MASSIVE SUCCESS! (Make sure you have FUN, too)

So, your key to Super Success is to.......PROSPECT, PROSPECT, PROSPECT!! Then you "must" also Follow Up. As many say, the "fortune is in the follow up." I'll train more on that in other trainings.
